Currently, we are seeking an Engineer IV, Electrical for our LaGrange mill location.

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide leadership and creativity in the design, development, optimization and implementation of major manufacturing and supporting processes.

SCOPE:
Incumbent typically reports to an Engineering, Research or Operations Manager or Unit Team Leader and receives broad assignment direction. Assignments may vary from individual contribution to team leadership. Communicates directly with the project sponsor in defining project scope. Responsibilities include project results, project control and effective use of resources. Incumbent is a recognized technical expert, possesses high standards of professional performance, displays vision and demonstrates both personal and organizational sensitivity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Position typically requires a bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience and continuing self-development. Normally a minimum of 8 years experience in a variety of mill and staff assignments. Demonstrated leadership in achieving results.

DIMENSIONS:
Vary widely with assignment and typically include:
•Project responsibility of $1 MM to $30 MM
•Project team of three to thirty people
•Single or multiple projects  

1. Design and Development: Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation, design, development and optimization of manufacturing and supporting processes to meet unit objectives.

2. Technical Knowledge: Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles and/or scientific analysis. Provide advice and counsel sought by others.

3. Safety: Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Ensure equipment and processes meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel.

4. Security and Documentation: Provide leadership in security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information.

6. Internal Control: Lead assigned projects/tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable Corporate policies. Place emphasis on CFI and Internal Control.

POSITION CRITERIA
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• A bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience. Continued updating and/or progress toward advanced degree in related field. Mill experience, including operations and maintenance; past assignment in mill engineering desirable.
